Band Baaja Baaraat is a popular Bollywood romantic comedy film directed by Raja Krishna Menon. The film, which was released on 18 February 2015, stars Arjun Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in the lead roles. It was produced by Ekta Kapoor and marks her second collaboration with Arjun after Om shanti om in 2007. The film revolves around two parallel love stories; that of Javed (Arjun) and Pari (Sonam), who are both unaware of each other's existence, and that of Aditya (Kalki Koechlin) and Rohit (Shashank Vyas). Javed and Rohit are best friends while Pari and Aditya are strangers who meet for the first time on their way to the same college. Band Baaja Baaraat was released to positive reviews from critics, with praise particularly directed at the lead actors' performances. The script and story were also well received, although the film was criticised for borrowing heavily from previous Bollywood films such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011). The film went on to receive various awards including Filmfare Award for Best Film and Critics Award for Best Actor for Arjun Kapoor. The film's soundtrack contains seven tracks. The music is composed by Mithoon with lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed. The set of "Band Baaja Baaraat" was erected at the production house soundstage, on August 2012. Filming began on 19 August 2012 at Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, where it continued for over 100 days. This is the first time that Sonam Kapoor has shot for a film with her father Anil Kapoor since they worked together in 2005's "Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat". The pair had similar chemistry on screen, as their characters are best friends. In May 2013, the film's crew moved to Cape Town, South Africa for filming for two months, where a song sequence was shot on Sonam and Kalki Koechlin. In addition, another song sequence was shot in the same city where Arjun and his team followed a live band for a musical number. The film's soundtrack is composed by Mithoon with lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed. The first song from the album titled as "Lukachupi" sung by Mohit Chauhan and Palak Muchhal was released on 19 December 2013. A song titled "Pankh" sung by Shraddha Sharma and Aashka Goradia was released on 22 December 2013. A song titled "Chal chal re" sung by Adnan Sami, Neha Bhasin and Sanam Puri was released on 26 December 2013. The music album received positive review from critics, who praised the genre of genre of Pop Fusion of the film. The soundtrack received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Music Score in a New Film category.Principal photography end was scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2014 but Principal Photography did not end till 25 October 2014 with post production process still going on. cfa1e77820
